Years of legal practice within a national justice system, now brought into a broader multidisciplinary social work and mental health practice.
Professional Background
I served as Senior State Counsel with the State Law Office, Office of the Attorney General and Department of Justice, Kenya, from February 2020 to December 2025. In that role I managed complex caseloads involving individuals, families, government agencies and community stakeholders; conducted detailed interviews and assessments to identify risk and determine appropriate responses; prepared professional assessments, reports and recommendations; and worked closely with police, courts, government agencies and community organisations.
This work required sound judgement, procedural rigour, ethical decision-making and confidentiality — and developed advanced capability in negotiation, conflict resolution and complex case management.
Why This Matters for Multidisciplinary Practice
A legal background brings a particular kind of literacy: understanding how rights, obligations, legislation and institutional processes actually work, and how they shape a person’s options and outcomes. Bringing that literacy into social work and mental health practice means being able to see not just a person’s immediate circumstances, but the systems around them — and to advocate within those systems with clarity and confidence.
