Professional Experience

My career spans two distinct but connected chapters — five years of legal practice within Kenya’s justice system, and an ongoing, more recent chapter of social work, mental health and disability practice in Australia. Together they form the multidisciplinary foundation behind my current work.

Senior State Counsel

State Law Office, Office of the Attorney General and Department of Justice, Kenya — February 2020 – December 2025

A five-year legal career managing complex caseloads, conducting detailed assessments, and advising and collaborating with government agencies, police, courts and community stakeholders — developing advanced skills in negotiation, ethical decision-making and complex case management. This experience forms a major part of the multidisciplinary foundation behind my current social work and mental health practice.

Ongoing Development

I maintain an active commitment to supervision, reflective practice and professional development — including continuing to build my capability in risk assessment and family violence-informed practice, an area I am committed to developing further within a multidisciplinary team.
